31st Recognition and Moving Up Ceremony
On the 23rd day of March 2018, we celebrated one of the most important events for students, parents and teachers, the 31st Recognition and Moving Up Ceremony. After a year of learning new things, making happy memories with their classmates, teachers and even parents, our students at Stepping Stone are now ready to face life’s challenges.
The ceremony started with the marching of Stepping Stone Foundation Officers, Administrative Staff, Faculty and lastly with the Candidates/Awardees with their Proud Parents. The processional march was followed by a meaningful prayer led by Domnique Baban (Functional Academics student from Stepping Stone-Sucat) and the singing of national anthem represented by Paul Joshua Espanola (Teen-Adult student from Stepping Stone-Makati). Stepping Stone’s Executive Director, Mr. Dayal Nandwani, formally opened the program by sharing an
inspiring welcome address.
This ceremony would not have been complete without the students showcasing their talents. Students from the Early Intervention, Functional Academics and Teen-Adult classes performed to the tune of “Top of the World" sending a heartwarming message to all of us that love can make us reach the top of the world. Through this dance presentation, the students got to express their gratitude to their parents, teachers, school staff and everyone who helped them throughout the school year.
After the presentation of our students, Mr. Rob Salamon, Chairman of the British
School Manila and a generous sponsor of
Stepping Stone shared an enlightening speech about the challenges faced by parents, teachers,
therapists and those who help in handling
children with special noting their difficulties but fulfilling roles. "It is more than just sending the kids to school and helping them, we become part of their dreams, their lives, the challenges that they take,
and in the process, we become successful as well".
After that wonderful message, our Executive Director, Mr. Dayal Nandwani, with some of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Paing Hechanova, Ms. Ann Aspinall, and some volunteers, Ms. Binky Camara and Mr. Jason Cabarce of Children’s Hour presented the certificates and special awards to our students at both Makati and Sucat branches.
They also presented the candidates for moving up, Johnniel Rhenz Valenzuela and Sophia Rey who were promoted to Functional Academics and Earl Yuan Reyes to Teen-Adult Class. Our hearts filled with joy to see our
